David M. Williams
Welcome

You have arrived at the website for Dr. David Michael Williams.

Background

David obtained a B.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a M.S. and Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. He worked for several years as a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) engineer in the Flight Sciences division of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Boeing Research and Technology. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Pennsylvania State (Penn State) University.

Research Interests

David has focused on developing robust, efficient, high-fidelity tools for simulating unsteady, compressible, viscous fluid flows. He has worked extensively to construct provably stable, high-order methods for this purpose, and to implement these methods on massively-parallel computing architectures.
